WARNING, WAIVER AND LIABILITY DISCLAIMER

Danger: The use of firearms is inherently dangerous. Any injuries resulting from the use of our products in conjunction with the use of firearms constitutes an assumption of open and obvious risks of injury, death, or property damage.

Product Purpose: Mechanical Design & Validation, LLC, d/b/a Target Hanging Solutions (hereinafter “THS”) manufactures stationary steel targets to be used with firearms and ammunition that meet the specifications listed in this Warning, Waiver and Liability Disclosure (hereinafter “Waiver”). The steel targets manufactured by THS are intended for this purpose only, and all users are specifically advised to not use our products for any other purpose or use; THS makes no claims, nor offers any assurances, nor represents any level of safety if the steel targets are used for any purpose or in any manner outside the specifications identified in this Waiver.

Environmental Risks: THS is not able to anticipate all possible scenarios, nor environmental conditions that may exist at any given time when our products are in use. However, you are advised that certain scenarios and environmental conditions may increase the likelihood of injury, death, or damage to property. Therefore, anyone who uses our products must first consider the situation or conditions present at the time of use, and determine whether it is safe to proceed. Possible environmental factors include but are not limited to: other people present; excessive noise; weather conditions; obstructed vision; the condition of safety equipment; the existence of steady or unsteady ground; the proximity to people, buildings, animals, or other items; and the condition of firearms and ammunition. This is not an exhaustive list; anyone who proceeds to use our products under any scenario or condition assumes the risk associated with the same.

Firearm Safety Instructions: Make sure to read, watch, understand and follow all safety instructions that come with your firearms.

Product Construction: THS has done its best to provide the safest designs possible to our customers. We only use laser cut AR500 steel on our intended strike faces and never weld to any of our target faces. The laser cutter and absence of weld on the AR500 steel ensures there is minimal Heat Affected Zone (HAZ) on the target, which may soften the material, increasing the chances a target will be damaged upon impact.

Projectile Risk: The bullet, being made of softer lead, will typically deform and fragment upon impact with a steel target, often removing energy from the projectile. However, this impact may cause bullet fragments to ricochet or bounce at varying angles from the target face. Use of our targets constitutes the assumption of open and obvious risk associated with these ricocheting bullets and projectiles.

Safety Recommendations: You must follow and obey all of the following recommendations when using our products. The following recommendations will not eliminate risk, but they will likely reduce the possibility of injury, death, or property damage:

Shooters and spectators should always wear eye and ear protection.
Always clear the target area of people, property or other items before shooting.
Always have an adequate backstop for your target.
Place targets as close to backstops as possible to avoid any projectiles exiting the range.
Never shoot closer than fifteen (15) yards with handguns.
Never shoot closer than one-hundred (100) yards with rifles.
Never exceed 3,000 feet-per-second muzzle velocity, or use ammunition larger than .308 caliber.
Only use lead core or frangible ammunition.
Never use steel, steel core, armor piercing, or solid copper bullets or shot with steel targets.
Angel targets downward, especially when using handguns, to deflect bullet and bullet fragments into the ground.
Discard any steel target that has surface deformation or pitting greater than 2 mm in depth.

Never attempt to modify a target. The integrity of the metal and safety of the product may be compromised if it is, among other things: subjected to extreme temperatures or extreme temperature changes; bent, cut, drilled or pierced; corroded; or attached, in any way, to a foreign object including similar materials. This is not an exhaustive list.

Customers are specifically advised to use our targets with the utmost care and caution, and do so at your own risk.
Any use of our products for a purpose other than the original intention of this product constitutes an assumption of open and obvious risk for any and all injury, death, or property damage caused thereby.
THS assumes no liability for injury, death or property damage resulting from the use of our products, if they have been modified in any manner. Any modification of our products constitutes an open and obvious assumption of the risk for any and all injury, death, or property damage caused thereby.
THS is not responsible for nor assumes no liability for injury, death or property damage caused by the use of a damaged, deformed, or modified target, including targets with surface deformation or pitting greater than 2mm in depth.
A person shooting a firearm at our target or targets assumes full responsibility for any and all injuries, death, or property damage resulting therefrom.

Modification of Disclaimer: THS and its officers reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to modify this Disclaimer in any manner and at any time, without prior notice. The terms of any such amendment to this Disclaimer shall become effective immediately upon posting of such terms on our website, and reader or user access of this website on or after such posting shall constitute acceptance of such amended terms.
